ACM11 – Communicator for Electricity Meter Readouts

etthv

ACM11 is a communicator designed for electricity meter data readout and their transfer to the central of automatic data collection. Do you have no central? Don´t worry, we can supply you ours.

In preset intervals, the communicator is sending electricity meter profiles and registers to the FTP server according to the setup parameters and electrometer settings.

The communicator is able to perform also direct communication with the electricity meter - so called transparent mode. In that case, the data are being transferred from the client into the modem, which is sending them into the connected electricity meter unaltered.

Right after the installation the communicator will perform the electricity meter readout and will send the data to the FTP server, which will serve as a check of the installation, connection and configuration of the communicator.

The communicator can update its firmware over the air automatically.

Detailed information

ACM11 – Communicator for Electricity Meter Readouts

ACM11 is a communicator designated to collect the data from an electricity meter and to send them to the central of automated data collection (ADC) which has the following basic properties:

  • electricity meter interface: RS-485 (ACM11-RG) or an optical head through RS-232 (ACM11-OG)
  • input interface: STN EN 62056-21
  • readout content: profiles and registers
  • readout interval: adjustable individually for profiles and registers
  • output protocol: FTP
  • output format: ABL
  • communication canal of the ADC: GPRS

COMMUNICATOR ACTIVITY

The activity and status of the communicator is signalized by two LED lights. During the readout from the electricity meter, the LED marked as EM is blinking. After the successful readout this LED will stay lit. If the communication with the electricity meter failed, the EM LED will turn off. In preset intervals the communicator is sending profiles and registers of the electricity meter to the FTP server according to parameters and adjustment of the electricity meter itself. The GPRS LED is blinking during this activity. After these data have been successfully sent, this LED will stay lit. In case the communication fails the GPRS LED will turn off, the data from the readout will stay in the memory of the communicator and will be sent in the next planned time.

COLLECTION OF YET UNCOLLECTED DATA

To finish collecting the data missing in the ADC central, the central will create a file for that electricity meter in corresponding folder of the FTP server, that contains the missing time period. During the connection to the FTP the communicator will check the presence of the file in this folder. If it finds it, it will make the required readout and will send the corresponding profiles to the ADC central.

TRANSPARENT MODE

The communicator can communicate with the electricity meter also directly (transparent mode). The data are then being sent from the client into the modem, which is sending them unaltered to the connected electricity meter. It is the additional option for configuration, collection of yet uncollected data or other nonstandard tasks.

CONFIGURATION AND PUTTING INTO OPERATION

To configure the communicator, it is possible to use a personal computer connected using the RS-485 interface, the SMS message or a configuration file located on a FTP server. The ACM11-RG communicator regularly synchronizes the clock of the electricity meter using the NTP server. Immediately after the installation the communicator will begin readout of the electricity meter and will send the data to the FTP server, this process will be the check of the installation, connection and the configuration of the communicator.

COMMUNICATOR SOFTWARE OVER THE AIR UPDATE

The communicator has the option to remotely and automatically update its firmware – the program upon which it works – by a new version located on the FTP server.
